We take an equity stake in your company via an uncapped SAFE. As a portfolio company, you receive API credits — up to $1M — to cover your entire LLM infrastructure cost through the pre-seed and seed phase. One endpoint. Every major model. Zero invoices until you're ready to pay.

A note on the SAFE

The SAFE is uncapped — our equity converts at whatever valuation your Series A investors set. We don't negotiate a cap. Clean terms: MFN clause + pro-rata rights. You set the price at your next priced round. We just ride along.

FAQ

Is LLMAPI.ai drop-in compatible with OpenAI's SDK?

Yes. Change one line: set base_url to https://api.llmapi.ai/v1 and swap your API key. Every model responds in OpenAI message format. No SDK changes needed.

Why are credits tied to investment? Can I just buy them?

Credits at the scale we offer ($1M) are only available through our investment program. Standard paid usage is available to anyone at llmapi.ai/pricing. The Ventures program is specifically for companies we take an equity stake in.

What are the exact SAFE terms?

Uncapped SAFE with Most Favored Nation (MFN) and pro-rata rights. MFN means our terms automatically match any better terms given to a subsequent SAFE investor. The SAFE converts at your first priced equity round. No valuation cap negotiation.

Do I need to be in an accelerator?

Accelerator membership is the primary channel, but we also accept applications via network referral. Select "Referred by LLMAPI network" and briefly explain your connection.

Can I use any model, including ones not listed?

We support 100+ models and add new ones within days of release. Portfolio companies get priority on new model requests — email ventures@llmapi.ai.

What happens when credits run out?

You transition to standard paid usage. We notify you at 80% and 95% consumption. Tier 2 portfolio companies can negotiate a follow-on credit top-up before their Series A.

Are there rate limits?

Standard provider rate limits apply per model. Portfolio companies can request elevated limits through their dedicated onboarding engineer. Fallback routing prevents a single-model rate limit from blocking your product.

Is there any exclusivity or vendor lock-in?

None. You are free to use OpenAI, Anthropic, or any other provider alongside LLMAPI.ai. The SAFE includes no restrictions on your vendor choices or future fundraising.
